How it works

Four things the platform does

Biocontacts is organised around one question: which companies want to bring in an asset like yours, and who decides. Everything below follows from that.

Search

Filter the way a target list actually gets scoped

Search by company type, keywords across therapeutic area, indication, and modality, preferred stage of development, company size, and location, with include and exclude filters on region. The filters match how a BD team narrows a list, so you are not translating your question into someone else's categories first.

Pre-qualify

Read what a company wants before you write to them

Every profile records stated in-licensing interests: therapeutic focus, modalities, stage preference, and partnering notes taken from our own meetings with that company. You can rule a company in or out before spending a credit on a contact.

Who it is for

Whether you are building a first target list or moving into a region you have not worked in, the starting point is the same: companies that already in-license in your area.

Technology transfer offices

You have IP ready to license and need to know which companies take university-stage assets in your field.

Find industry partners

Teams starting business development

A first target list with no existing network to draw on. Start from companies that already in-license in your area rather than a conference attendee list.

Build your first list

Teams expanding into new regions

You know your home market. Filter by headquarters location to find in-licensing companies where you have not worked before.

Search a new region

Assets ready to out-license

A late-stage asset and a defined partnering profile. Search by stage preference to find companies whose stated interests match what you have.

Where the data comes from

Maintained by people who use it daily

Biocontacts is built and maintained alongside JustPartnering, a life sciences business development and licensing consultancy that has been working since 2007. We run 300+ face-to-face partnering meetings a year, and what companies tell us about their in-licensing interests goes into the platform.

The rest comes from company partnering documents and from emailing the companies listed to confirm their current interests. The platform is updated weekly, and contact records are re-verified as people move roles.

What a search looks like

A walkthrough, on your own therapeutic area

A search usually takes four steps: set the therapeutic and modality filters, narrow by stage and region, scan the matching profiles for stated interests, then save the ones worth approaching to a target list and unlock contacts only for those.

We would rather show you that against your own asset than a generic example. Book a call and we will run it live.

Common questions

What is Biocontacts?

Biocontacts is a searchable database of life science companies that in-license. It records what each company is looking to bring in, by therapeutic area, modality, indication, and development stage, along with contact details for the business development and external innovation people who handle those decisions.

Who uses it?

Technology transfer offices, small and mid-size biotech companies, and people in business development or R&D roles. It is most useful when you need companies and contacts in a specific therapeutic area or indication rather than a general industry list.

How current is the data?

The platform is updated weekly. Contact details are re-verified as people change roles and companies, and partnering interests are refreshed from our own meetings with the companies listed.

What does it cost?

Three annual plans, from 949 to 1,985 US dollars per team per year, each including 12 months of search access and a set number of credits. One credit unlocks one contact. Full pricing is on the pricing page.

Can I check that you cover my area before paying?

Yes. Request a free Partnering Snapshot and we will run a search on your therapeutic areas and send you a PDF showing how many companies match, broken down by region and company size.
